School leadership and evidence-based practice

Australian Educational Leader
Volume 38 Issue 1 (Mar 2016)

Abstract: The purpose of school leadership is to enhance student achievement. In this paper the claim is made that evidence-based practice can enhance students' attainment of learning outcomes. Much has been written about evidence-based practice in schools, but few articles describe what it can be in actual practice. This case study serves as a model for practising school leaders and an illustration of a principle for educational researchers.
