Abstract: The theme for this year's conference "To Industry and Beyond" was intended to encourage delegates to think about a number of issues that impact on the future of engineering education. What is engineering? What do the various stakeholders want from an engineering graduate? How is the engineering workplace changing? What pressures will engineering graduates face at work now and in the future? What are the internal and external pressures experienced in engineering education? Building on this, the keynote speakers will address a range of the issues facing us as educators today, with the theme of "Beyond". The speakers will be discussing the future of Engineering Education, the future of Engineering Practice and the challenge to thinking Beyond Engineering. Research in Engineering Education is an important stream this year, with the emphasis being on rigorous research backed up by appropriate methodologies. The Educational Research Methods stream includes a series of invited papers from recognised researchers in engineering education, followed by refereed papers in this area as well as a workshop to help delegates get started as educational researchers.
