Abstract: This review covers current developments for the whole range of natural gas vehicle technologies. Vehicle refuelling systems are being developed to provide the consistent, accurate and fast refuelling of buses and trucks. On-vehicle cylinder design is continually improved to increase storage performance, with the latest products utilising aerospace technology. Engine developments are being largely environmentally driven, and have the potential of producing urban transit vehicles with far lower emissions than the diesel vehicles they seek to replace.
