Archbishop John O'Reily: First Bishop of Port Augusta and Second Archbishop of Adelaide - Some Aspects of His Theology and Practice

Abstract: John O'Reily was chosen as the first bishop when the First Plenary Council of Australia and New Zealand recommended the establishment of the diocese of Port Augusta in 1885. Then as Archbishop of Adelaide he built good relations with other Christian churches and the wider community and was a stout defender and promoter of Catholic and denominational schools.
