about this publication

Abstract: Video-based imaging systems are currently operating at a number of coastal sites in Australia, to assess and quantify the coastline changes and altered coastal processes and in the vicinity of a range of coastal engineering works. In addition to satisfying core technical, engineering and regulatory requirements, via the world-wide-web coastal imaging is providing regularly-updated monitoring program data to both project manager and public user groups. Applications include longer-term and regional-scale coastline monitoring, bypassing systems operations, assessment of coastal structure performance, and coastal process investigation to inform best-practice coastal management.
