Abstract: Ian Thorpe's Fountain for Youth Trust has formed a partnership with The Fred Hollows Foundation and the Sunrise Health Service to help improve maternal and infant health in the Jawoyn communities. A cluster of chronic illnesses known as 'Syndrome X' is afflicting many of the 460, 000 Indigenous Australians where young adults begin to show symptoms of renal failure, diabetes, strokes, hypertension, heart disease and end stage renal failure.
