Mentoring Indigenous Students: Making Sense of the Research Process

Abstract: In order to identify and examine appropriate strategies to support and enhance research skills and health worker education and training of Indigenous tertiary students, either commencing or undertaking research, a Diabetes Research Project was commissioned by Yooroang Garang, the School of Indigenous Health Studies, the University of Sydney. The goals included facilitate research into Type 2 Diabetes, develop/design a unit of studies in Diabetes, hands-on community based health promotion, Diabetes Prevention Programs and development of a qualitative research process module,
